The other day I had a wonderful text from my friend Erin who lives a couple of hours away ....
She was just wishing I could stop over and to have a chat and a coffee. Those are the best "thinking of you" messages that just brighten ones day!
So Erin, and my other long distance friends and family,,,,,if you could stop by for a visit today, this is what we could share over a cuppa coffee. Enjoy!!
The recipe is really easy !
I try not to do alot of baking, cause with just Darrell and I at home we will eat it ALL!!
I like to try new recipes though, so todays baking will be shared with Darrell's co workers and I think I will drop some off at my daughter in laws workplace as well....she works in the same office as our nephew, so I can give them both something to enjoy at coffee break! And,,,,I did eat too many of the side pieces that I cut off,,,so it is off for a walk for me!!
Today I am sharing my nephew and niece's home with you! Heidi is such a go getter and when she tackles a project she really gets it done!! Love how their renovation of their main floor turned out for them and just wanted to share her blog with you as well. So be sure to visit her at Rustic Barnyard
Hey everyone! Hope this finds you all enjoying some warmer weather these days. It is typical springlike weather on the prairies....wind, some snow, followed by melting temperatures and then another mention of snow in the forecast!! Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind.
I find that I take quite a break from blogging during January, February and into March....but I have been checking up on what some of you have all been doing! I have to admit as well, that I am still having some adjustments to being an empty nester and having married sons.....a new season for me and I may be like Mother Nature,,,,not knowing how to make my mind up about it all!! Seasons of life and definately one that I have to walk a little closer to the One who knows all things!
I have started putting some ideas together for bring some spring time into the house. I bought some new throw pillows and have used them as a "springboard" for bringing some color into the fireplace area.
Some pretty blues and yellows to brighten things up!
The wash stand that Darrell got to keep in a coin toss!
I love how it is just the right size for the fireplace area.
I am working on the fireplace mantel. It is such a large mantel and since I am so stuck on having the sides balanced it is taking some time!! and I find that I have to buy 2 of everything!! Thank goodness for some awesome sales at Michaels this past week. Some great 2 for 1 deals! Stay tuned!
