Pull up a chair at the country harvest table...

It was Thanksgiving in Canada a few weeks back and we enjoyed sharing our table with our dear friends, the Andersons.  I enjoy setting a nice table, especially for friends and special occasions.

I purchased the burlap material for the table runner and the striped fabric for the napkins, otherwise I was able to go through the cupboards and put together an autumn inspired table.  I got a great deal on the leftover fabric for the napkins from a roll end at Walmart.  I ran out of time to sew up the edges, but will get to that eventually!  Kinda goes with the rustic theme,... unfinished napkins!

Raffia around the water pitchers and mason jar glasses,
Chargers that have a wood grain,
and candles in hurricane lanterns.

I used a scalloped paper from a collection of autumn papers to set off the plain brown and white plates.
Napkin rings from Winners, always find a good deal there .  Didn't have enough of one kind, so I mixed the owls and the pumpkins.

I wanted to have the candle sitting on something in the hurricane to give it more interest.  I tried filling it part way with popcorn kernels, but didn't really like it.  Solution was to crumple up some brown paper and that worked great!  Grabbed a trio of autumn leaves off of the deck and put them in with the raffia.
Finished!

Hydrangeas from my yard...autumn favorite!

You all would laugh if you could see me as I am typing this post!  I have tennis elbow, I think...so I am sitting at my desk, typing with one finger as I have my left elbow sitting on ice!! in  my big metal mixing bowl!  It seems to be helping!  I have a few things on my to do list before I have to get ready for work, so no time to just sit and ice an elbow,,,, must multi task!!
Have a great week end everyone!  Sure am thankful for the beautiful weather we are getting in Southern Alberta...hope it lasts for a long while yet.

What a pretty table you set! I need to get thinking about how I will decorate my table for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So much time is spent there, it needs to be really pretty. I love the hydrangeas and have LOTS of them, linen tinged with pink. Also, if you are even inclined to link-up on other blogs, consider yourself invited to DRAH on Wednesday thru Monday. Blessings!

Your thanksgiving table looked awesome, I didn't think to take a photo of ours. Now we move on to thinking about Christmas decor while our US friends are still waiting to celebrate their thanksgiving.

A beautiful table setting, Dawna. Love the chargers and the napkin rings. It's all so very rustic and fall-ish.
Yikes! I hope your elbow soon heals. The scenes behind the blogs we write would make hilarious posts in themselves.
