Fall Decor and Happy Thanksgiving from the country

We enjoyed a house full of friends and family yesterday and now the turkey soup is simmering on the stove!  It has been awhile since I last posted!  Yikes....I wish I was more consistent at doing this blogging!  I guess I use it more as a diary and a photo journal...and I get some ideas to blog about and they just seem to stay in my brain and never make it to be a blog post!

So.... before the fall season is gone, I thought I would post this years fall decor that I enjoyed putting up around the house.  I really like the neutral tone of white pumpkins and you will see they were the focal point of my decorating.  As well, I found a pair of gold lamps at Value Village (5.99 each), bought the shades at Walmart,  and they helped to fill in the mantel.

OH...is there anyone out there with tips on how to make my header size fill up more of the banner!?  Thats the problem with not doing this often,,,you forget all the techie stuff!!

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian blogging friends!  Enjoy the long week end!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Your festive decorations are beautiful. I love the white and gold together so much so that I'm looking for ways to add a touch of gold to my home now. Thanks for the inspiration.

Who would have thought they'd fit in today's decor! I think they are awesome! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy the week.

Dawna, this is really, really lovely. The gold with the white is striking. Wonderful symmetry and then the surprise of your grandmother's plate. I love it all. xo ~ Nancy

P.S. I want to thank you for your visit and really sweet comments about our cottage. You're a no-reply blogger, so I couldn't reply to you via email. Thanks, again, Dawna. Hugs.

As I recall, the size your header can be is based on the template you are using.

Just love the white with the golds. It makes for a wonderfully elegant display. Hope that turkey soup was good!

Wow, your mantel is huge.....what a wonderful spot to do some great mantel-scaping! I really like that you can have lamps on the mantel.
