Let's have lunch in the Hayloft...

Last Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful lunch with friends in our hayloft!  The weather was perfect, the food was tasty and the company was great!  Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Autumn.

How this all started was, after 30 years we have purchased a new dining room table.  Of course, the old table was sent to the hayloft.....and that was when I thought it would be fun to have lunch in the hayloft.

Vacuming up the cobwebs, sweeping the floor and hauling a whole lot of stuff to set the mood was done to get it all ready.   So, come along and see what I came up with.

Favorite thing about these pictures is the grains and tones in the wood...

The menu was simple,,,homemade soup, salad and cheese n crackers
with apple crisp for dessert.

Just a few fall leaves left on the trees

I'd have to say I would eat in the barn any day!!

My goodness, what a treat - all of it! Love the table setting, the menu, and the beautiful light streaming through the hayloft window - genius! I think too - what an incredible setting for a wedding ceremony, with the beautiful light streaming, and the gorgeous wood background. Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed your post very much :)

Dawna,
I adore the idea of using the Hayloft for a luncheon!!!
My "Mr. Ed" (aka Farmer Boy) would never take to this idea,

Your autumn table is so pretty and to think it is in a hayloft! I too think your post is magazine worthy.
