Simple decorating for fall

It is a frosty morning here today...signs that it is nearing the end of October.  We have had really nice weather though.

I did a little bit of autumn decorating around the house, just simple little switches to make things reflect the changing season.

Some little plates and a pumpkin welcome

The plates on either side are one of the few things I have
from my Grandma Meyer.

Easy decor for the mantel
Darrell actually did a paint/stain treatment on this old
fence gate to make it look like barn board.

I don't have expensive art...these are just prints from an old calendar

I like having a frame on my wee range hood mantel.
I just change it out with free prints that you can download

Happy Fall Ya'll

I get a daily bible verse through Instagram
I am always amazed how things come our way, that are either
just what we need to hear, or something we can pass onto a friend.

Have a great week everyone!

Mosaic Monday

We made a trip to Fernie the last week end of September.  First time being in Fernie during the autumn season.  It sure is pretty and I love the sweater weather that mean fall temperatures.

Of course, we always stay at Birch Meadow Lodge and here is yet another grouping of pictures from our favorite BnB!

These were taken using my Iphone, but all in all, not too bad.
I used an app on my phone to create the collage as well.

I liked the stacked wood pile, signs of keepin the home fires burning for the season ahead.

Have a great week everyone!

Christine's Autumn Door

We have the best neighbours down the road from us!  Christine is very creative and her home always has a welcoming feeling to it.  This is her autumn doorway!  now don't you think that just says "Come on in!"
I love the cedar that they have incorporated

Some editing in Picmonkey.

Have a great, colorful week end!

Card making on a blustery day

It is a windy, blustery day outside.  So I got my scrapbook room all cleaned up so I could create a new mess!  Here is what I came up with...  I am going to put these in the mail to a cousin who is a college student on Thetis Island.  I just love snail mail surprises.

Last year about this time, I was just getting my scrapbook room set up.
You can view the before n after of this wee room here.

Still Life Photo Challenge

I enjoy the Photo Challenges that Donna gets us going on!  Thanks for challenging us to put something together and sharing it with others.

I also enjoy making collages of my pictures, so I hope that is okay that I group a few things together.
I use a Canon Rebel XSi and usually just wing it!!  I really should take a class or two and learn more about my camera.

It is another beautiful autumn day here in Southern Alberta .... perfect for getting outside and capturing a few more Autumn images.  enjoy the day everyone!

Sunflowers, autumn leaves, and a quote..
I use Picmonkey for some fun editing and in this picture
just put a texture over top of the whole collage.

This is one of my favorite bowls, so I took it on a little photo shoot of its own!

OCTOBER

I have some projects that I am working on, so will have to get them posted when completed.  It has  been a busy summer for us even though it seems we did not accomplish lots on our to do list!

Ben, our youngest son, was married to Faith on August 30th.  It was a perfect summer day, outside ceremony, lots of burlap and lace, and a beautiful couple!

A wonderful location suited this couple perfectly
Eagle's Nest Ranch in the Cypress Hills

A beautiful bride...

A handsome young groom!

It was so much fun decorating for this wedding.
Burlap n lace were all the rage on Pinterest
It came together well.

Check out Chelsie's photography blog here.

So Darrell and I are getting used to an empty nest.  So thankful that we are just a few miles outside of the city, just a little ways from the boys.  And what is really cool is that they are both living on the same street!!  Ben and Faith found a house just a 3 or 4 minute walk from Kaleb and Jami!  Totally not planned at all, but the right house in the right price range was waiting for them!

Enjoying looking through everyone's wonderful Fall and Autumn posts.  I love this time of year!  Have a wonderful day everyone......that goes out to anyone who may still have me on their blog roll!  YIKES!!  I am not the best at keeping up to date!!
